GREEN WEEK

This week our focus is on "Bees"

There are a few special events happening:

• Tuesday - book swap
• Wednesday - Healthy Wrapper Free Lunch
• Thursday - Make & Take 
• Friday - Walk to School; 9.15am assembly; Wear Green or come dressed in yellow and black

Week 4 Happenings

On Wednesday we participated in the National Simultaneous Storytime by watching the story below.

            

Winter is now here! 

Please send your child to school with a raincoat or umbrella even if it sunny. For those children who love playing in the mud we have asked them to bring a change of clothes.

Times tables ladder

Over the past few weeks we have been learning our times tables as part of our home learning. Congratulations to the first of our class who have reached the top of the ladder!!

Well done Alan, Sega, Samantha, Ariella, Hood and Arlo - you rock!

Hiwi The Kiwi Show

This morning we were given a free show presented by the Minstrel and his wife.

We learnt some very important messages about fishing for the future and safety in boats:

• Always wear a lifejacket on the water.
• Keep our seas clear of plastic to help save our sea birds and sea animals.
• Take a ruler to check the size of your fish.

Ask your child what else they learned.

NEW LEARNING DISCUSSIONS

Wednesday 9 May and Thursday 10 May.

Thanks everyone who has already booked in for a discussion on either Wednesday or Thursday this week. If you need help booking please send a note or pop into class and see me. It takes 5 minutes.

Please note that all interviews booked last term were cancelled and you will need to rebook.

This week the children will be updating their information for their presentations to you. I'm looking forward to hearing them talk to you at the meetings.

All learning discussions will take place in our classroom.

Welcome Back to Term 2

Hi everyone! Welcome back to Term 2!

NEW SEATING PLAN

I am very excited to introduce flexible seating to the class this term. The children are able to choose the best place for them to work. There are a few rules to help us make the most of being able to self -manage this way. Please ask your child how they are doing with our new seating arrangement.

Please check that you have booked for these next week. Your support with your child's learning is very important to their success. If you want me to book a time for you please let me know.

Your child has Reading, Spelling and Maths home learning this week. Please check that you have signed their Reading log and that they have packed their home learning in their book bag on Friday morning. Thankyou for your support!

Puriri Outdoor Education

Wow! What a wonderful two days of full on activities! Here are a few photos of our class from Wednesday and Thursday. Watch this space for some of the children's feedback this week.

Also I want to thank all our amazing parent helpers who helped out during the overnight stay. It wouldn't have been a success without you!
