GREEN WEEK

Wow! What a busy week we have had!
The week started with a free show about caring for bees.

Taekwon do finishes after our next session. We have enjoyed learning about a different sport to the usual ones we do. In this photo we were all lined up ready to finish our session. You could have heard a pin drop.

In Maths we have been learning about capacity and volume. It was great to go outside now the sun is shining.

Friday was Green Day and we celebrated by dressing on green or by wearing an animal costume as part of this week's them "M.A.D. About Endangered Animals".
Congratulations to Gina for your wonderful research about polar bears!

COOK ISLAND LANGUAGE WEEK

Last week we celebrated the Cook Island language and culture. We learned how to greet each other in Cook Island Maori, which is very similar to our New Zealand Maori. Did you know that different parts of the Cook Islands speak different dialects of the language?
We were very privileged to have Rua and Pauline visit us on Thursday afternoon to tell us about their beautiful country, show us some dance moves and share some of the famous Cook Island mainus (potato salad) and chop suey with us.

Theatre Group Performance

On Monday we were able to watch Mr Greenfield's Theatre Group perform their version of "The Billy Goats Gruff". The group were amazing and so were we. Look at the manaakitanga we showed during the performance. Kia kaha Room 21 😀

Taekwon Do

We have taekwon do every Tuesday for 6 weeks. This week we worked with the pads. We learned how to slap down, punch and kick down using the pads. We also had to throw the pad to our buddies with one arm like a pizza. That was hard!
