Ata marie and welcome to Week 6 everyone.

These slides are also available on your school account for you to write on. I suggest you watch the videos first before you do the reading so you can hear what some of those tricky words sound like.

Week 5 - Friday Fun Challenges

Today's blog is all about staying away from your screens. There are lots of learning opportunities for you at home or while you are exercising. Here are a couple for today.

Has your bubble been using a lot of toilet rolls? Here is a Maths / Technology challenge for you using your toilet rolls.

I want to build a tower out of all the toilet rolls we've been using. So far I have 2 storeys to my tower. The first storey has 1 toilet roll and the second storey has 3 toilet rolls. How many toilet rolls do I need to make 3 storeys? 4 storeys? 5 storeys? What about 10 storeys? (That might take a while to collect that many toilet rolls!)

There are many ways to solve this puzzle. Take a photo and show me how you worked out the number of toilet rolls I'm going to need.

This next challenge is very simple.  You can do it anywhere and with anyone!
Write the letters of the alphabet down the side of a piece of paper. Next to each letter write the name of one thing that you can see from where you are standing. If you are inside you can move around the room to see things. If you are on a walk you might have to stop to record the things you see.
Can you fill in every letter?

Send me your ideas for next Friday's challenges.

Week 4 - Friday Post

Thank you everyone for accessing our class blog this week. Almost all of our class has been in contact with me over the past two days. It is great to hear that everyone is safe and well.

At this morning's meeting you were asked what each of the photos were of. Have you worked the out yet? Mum and Dad may be able to help with some of them but I am sure you know them all because you took the photos with the microscopes. Write what you think they are in the comments below and I will tell you if you are correct.

I have added a new page at the top of our blog called "Olympic Reports". When you have send your finished report to me I will add it to the page.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and I will see you on Monday at our 10.30am meeting.

Lockdown Activities for Week 4

There are only 3 days left this week but the Puriri Whā teachers have put together some slides for you to work through over those three days.

You don't have to complete all the slides, just choose a few activities that spark your interest.

However, the one activity I would like you to do is the information report (writing slide) as we will not have time to complete it when we return to school. Email me if you need help but remember to have a go first before asking anyone for help.

Have fun learning and I will see you tomorrow in our class meeting!

Our stars for this week's team assembly are Joe and Havana.

Finally, thank you to all the parents and caregivers who came to our interview evenings and participated in your child's reflection and goal setting. I was very proud of their presentations!
