Term 3

Welcome back for Term 3 everyone!

This Wednesday we begin Garden to Table. Click on the link to see our timetable and  groups for each week. All children must wear covered shoes in the kitchen and in the garden for health and safety reasons.
Parents and grandparents are always welcome to come along on Wednesdays and help supervise small groups in the kitchen or garden. No skill is needed and this time is also a great opportunity to meet other parent volunteers.

Reminders:
  • School starts at 8.55am
  • Home learning includes reading each night and Maths basic facts practise. Occasionally the children will be given other home learning as part of their Inquiry work.
  • Have you booked an interview with your child and myself yet? Parent interviews take place in Week 2. You can book by clicking on this link or popping into class and I can do it for you.
Have a great week!

End of Term 2 Happenings

 Music with Mal:

For the past few weeks we have been  enjoying music lessons with Mal Lokatani. We spent time playing instruments, learning rhythm patterns and playing drum beats.

Green Week:
This term our focus for Green Week was about composting.

Watch this video about composting.

We discussed things we can throw in our compost bins including food scraps, clean paper & cardboard, garden scraps and water. We also talked about ways we can minimise the amount of packaging in our lunchboxes.

Disco:
Our disco theme to celebrate the end of term was Matariki. Here are a few photos of the costumes some of the class dressed in.

Next term our theme for Science is "the Human Body". If you have expertise in this area or you have resources or contacts please email me.

In the meantime have a wonderful holiday with your families.
Stay warm,
Maria
