End of Term 3

This term flew past so quickly with the Level 2 Lockdown interrupting our learning programmes. We did manage to revisit a lot of the work that had been posted on our blog during Lockdown, to review our learning and allow those who didn’t have access to see what we had been doing. Physical distancing meant a lot of our group based, collaborative learning did not take place and a lot of our sports was cancelled.

However, we did gain an extra week of Garden to Table! We would like to thank all our adult volunteers who helped make it so much fun and a special thank you goes to Sarah and Richard, our G2T specialists.

We also acknowledged Tongan Language Week and Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori by learning some new phrases and reading myths and legends.

We played Nga Kupu Jeopardy too.

To end the term we wrote stories for our stop motion movies which we will create next term and share on our blog. These photos show the class practising. Look how focused they are!

Duffy books and holiday reading logs were given out to everyone on the last Thursday so I’m hoping all the children are finding a bit of time, like me,  to relax over the holidays and read.

Happy holidays everyone!

Welcome Back To School - Concept With Funny Cartoon Character... Royalty Free Cliparts, Vectors, And Stock Illustration. Image 112124294. Malo e lelei everyone.

Most of our class have rejoined us at school and we will be returning to our regular learning programmes as of tomorrow. We have spent the last week revisiting the "Learning at Home" lessons from the class blog and class building. The photos below show two of the activities from last week - Chocolate River and the Maths Trail.

If you have resources from Lockdown please return them this week so they can be "quarantined" before I return them to the resource room.

This week is Tongan Language Week. Every day we will learn a new phrase and we will spend some of our Reading time this week learning about Tongan language and culture. If you would like to visit our class to share your Tongan culture with us this week please let me know.

Garden to Table is on Wednesday in the middle block from 11.20 - 1pm. We would appreciate any help / time you can give. Last week the children made sapa sui, palusami and pineapple pancakes. Delish!!!

Lastly, everyone has Reading homework. Please encourage your child to read for at least 10 minutes every night and fill in their reading log. Reading logs are checked every Friday.

Have a great week everyone!
