Welcome Back

Kia Orana everyone!! I can't believe we are over halfway through the year.

Image result for owairaka manaakitangaPB4L: We have got off to a wonderful start this term. This week we have talked a lot about manaakitanga and what it would look like it our classroom. The children shared lots of ideas about being caring, being responsible and being respectful.
Our class expectations will be based on our PB4L values.

HOME LEARNING: I am looking forward to seeing all home learning books and reading logs tomorrow at school. This term we are using our ladder to earn a pizza lunch at the end of term for everyone who has completed their home learning each week. Please support your child in their home learning by:

  • providing a quiet space for them to sit and do their work.
  • listen to them read if they are in Weka, Kea or Kereru groups.
  • sign their reading log on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night.
  • check they have put their home learning in their school bag on Friday morning.

TAEKWON DO: As part of our PE programme this term the Year 3 - 6 classes have started taekwon do lessons. Ask your child about it. Next week I will post photos for you.

COOK ISLAND LANGUAGE WEEK: Next week we will be learning about the Cook Islands and would love to have any parents or family visit to share Cook Island culture (songs, stories, food, music or art). Please pop in and let me know if you are available.

Have a great week!

Maria Mudgway
