Here are the answers to yesterday's crossword puzzle:
Today's activity is a crossword puzzle. Use the clues to help you work out the answers. You can print the puzzle and fill it in or you can copy it onto some maths book paper.
Each day I am going to post one activity about our class for you to do. Use the blog to help you find the answers and to help you spell each others' names.
On Wednesday we were able to complete our marble runs and self-evaluate the designs. It was no as easy as it looked in the videos we watched but it was great to see modifications being made to make the runs even better.
If you are still keen to make another marble run watch these video clips on The Kids Should See This.
Joe made another marble run at home.
It has been fantastic to see the children experimenting and modifying their marble runs, towers and bridges over the past few weeks! We have quite a few budding designers, architects, engineers, builders and scientists in our class.
How slow can you make a marble run without stopping. Try our marble run challenge for this week.
This week we built towers and researched skyscrapers that we were interested in. Do you know the names of any other skyscrapers?
Friendship Bracelets:
Have you ever tried making one? We had a lot of fun making them last Friday. They are a great way to practise perseverance and resilience. Here are a few photos of the experience:
Food Technology - Garden to Table:
Wednesday was our last day for Garden to Table which meant it was PIZZA DAY!!!
Science Kit - Energy:
On Wednesday we experimented with circuits and different types of energy.
We also built our towers for the tower challenge on Wednesday. It's not easy!
What is the largest skyscraper in the world?? This week's research is all about skyscrapers and we have a tower challenge as well. If you are working from home send your slide in and a photo of your tower by Friday.
Over the past week we have been focusing on our passion projects. It is exciting that everyone has chosen something different and their presentations are fantastic. We hope these motivate you to learn more about your own passions.

Learners at School Update
Our first three days were focused on reconnecting and we did a great job at doing just that!
We built huts together:
We are very lucky to have so many talented children in our Year 4 pod this year! Enjoy watching! My apologies if you cannot access any as they have limited access.
I am so excited that we will be back at school and learning face to face this week ( or should I say mask to mask?)
This week's task is for everyone, not just the children who are continuing to learn online at home but also the children returning to school full time. This work is due by next Monday.
Enjoy looking at the slides our class have created for Diwali. It is great to see the children using the digital skills they have been practising during Lockdown.
These slides are the second part of our Diwali Week study. I will be posting all the wonderful choice board activities that Room 21 have completed on Friday for you to view.
This week is very special for many of our Indian Community. Learn about Diwali through this week's choice boards.
FINAL REMINDER:
If you would like to perform at our Talent Show write your name & your talent in the comment box below. Entries close this Friday.

This task is the last for our New Zealand focus. Tomorrow we have a kahoot based on the NZ Quiz questions you were given on Monday.
This week we have a quiz for you. Find the answers to each of the questions and record the answers on the answer sheet in your home learning folder.
On Friday we will have a Kahoot game using these questions.
This week and next week we are learning about New Zealand - places we have visited and places we would love to visit. Hopefully you will be inspired to visit somewhere new this summer.

Next week is Tokelauan Language Week but Puriri Team has decided to celebrate it this week along with their Pacific neighbours Niue.
On Mondays and Wednesdays I will be posting choice board work for the week. Try to complete your tasks by Friday each week. Allow at least 1/2 hour to an hour each day (Monday - Thursday) to work through your school work. You can email me for help with anything you are stuck with.
It's the last day of term today!
Thank you to all our wonderful "at home support crew"! We couldn't have done it without you. I hope you all have a very relaxed 2 week break and I look forward to seeing you all next term.
ASSEMBLY UPDATE:
Well that was fun! Here is a snapshot I managed to take during the assembly.
Yesterday we were able to have a Zoom meeting with zoo facilitators Lizzy and Ngaio who answered our many questions and gave us an interesting insight into life at Auckland Zoo. Did you know that there are 1400 animals at the zoo and 200 staff who care for them?
I will email the link to the Zoom, later today, to those children who missed it.
Congratulations everyone! We've made it to the end of Term 3 and you should all be very proud of the way you have shown our 3 school values over the last 5 weeks in Lockdown.
This week we celebrate bees. Complete 3 tasks from this choice board.
It's time to get outside and away from our screens.
I found some great scavenger hunts online and thought you might enjoy this neighbourhood one. Split your family into teams depending on how many phones you have. Give yourselves a time limit, e.g. an hour, to take photos of as many things on the list as you can. When you get home you can insert all your photos on google slides and share them with your other teams. Who took the most photos? Who took the best photos? Who took the wackiest photos? You might want to decide on a prize for the winners of each category before you leave the house.
The aim of the game is to leave the house and have some fun with your bubble.
