The focus for this term's Green Week is Whales. Last week we watched a presentation from Project Jonah where we learned about the different types of whales that live in our oceans. Did you know that we have a whale in the Hauraki Gulf? The Bryde's Whale!
This week we will complete an inquiry about the Bryde's and other whales. On Friday we will be dressing in Green (or blue) to celebrate Green Week.
The school value for the next two weeks is Kaitiakitanga. Some important reminders for us are:
- reduce the amount of waste we have in our lunch boxes by reducing packaging
- clean plastic containers e.g. yoghurt pottles before putting them in the recycling bin
- use the back of unused photocopies instead of throwing them away
On Wednesday our class will be having a waste free lunch box day. There will be spot prizes for being waste free.
